Description

Cat Stevens is one of the most important singer-songwriters of his generation, fusing elements of folk, pop and rock he crafted his own unique and distinct sound which inspired a generation! With his long dark hair and beard, slender frame, and black Gibson J-180 Cat Stevens stood as the embodiment of the 1970s singer-songwriter, a modern troubadour on a quest for spiritual enlightenment through music. Our friends at Gibson are proud to present the Cat Stevens J-180 Collector’s Edition.

Cat originally bought this legendary instrument back in ’69 from London’s famous Selmer’s music shop. Cat was initially drawn to the J-180’s elegant style, however its percussive quality soon became an essential component of his sound

This guitar features the classic J-180 body shape crafted from Maple back and sides paired up with a Thermally Aged Sitka Spruce top for a tonal dream. It’s perfect for strumming big chords and sounds beautiful when fingerpicked, this really is one versatile acoustic!

With a 60s Custom spec Mahogany neck this J-180 is secure and feels great underhand, it features a Rosewood fingerboard adorned with Graduated Mother of Pearl star inlays, 20 frets, a 24.75” scale length and a Bone nut. The headstock is also inlayed with a beautiful mother of pearl moon and star headstock inlay.

Loaded with a LR Baggs M1 Soundhole pickup this guitar is ready for life on the road, whether you’re playing arenas or sitting around a campfire this guitar is the perfect companion. This guitar is limited to 50 units worldwide and includes a certificate of authenticity and a selection of patches, pins and stickers inspired by the iconic artwork of Cat Stevens.

These guitars are going to be super limited so if you like what you see make sure to act quickly, this won’t be hanging around long!
