Keith Merrow, a renowned guitarist in the contemporary music scene, has a discerning ear for what constitutes a great sound. Having played with passive pickups for a while, he is well-versed in their bold response to the initial pick attack. However, when paired with the dynamic and extended frequency response of Fluence pickups, Keith was finally able to create a pickup that broke free from the constraints of traditional designs.
The Keith Merrow Signature Series pickups, designed in collaboration with Fishman Fluence, are known for their versatility and multi-voice options that allow for toggling between musically complimentary voices. These pickups can be easily installed, replacing standard humbucker pickups, and can be recharged on your guitar with an optional lithium-ion battery pack that offers weeks of playing time.
Keith's custom bridge pickup, when combined with the Classic Open Core neck pickup, produces an exceptionally diverse range of tones that cater to the needs of modern guitarists. The Keith Merrow Signature Series Neck Pickup offers three distinct voicings: Voice 1, which provides an ideal vintage P.A.F. neck tone with perfect dynamics and output level; Voice 2, a Fluence-exclusive neck tone that produces unreal highs, vocal midrange, and tight lows; and Voice 3, a punchy single coil with a glassy top.
The Keith Merrow Signature Series Bridge Pickup comes in three distinct voicings as well. Voice 1 delivers a medium output with low mid grunt, providing a passive feel that echoes the sound that was in Keith's head and could only be delivered by Fluence. Voice 2 offers low output P.A.F. roots, from clean to crunch to brown. Lastly, Voice 3 produces a punchy single coil with a glassy top.
