To celebrate Iron Maiden's fantastic achievement of fifty years guiding heavy metal, Fender and Jackson are releasing four new limited-edition models. These are a Fender Dave Murray Stratocaster, a Fender Steve Harris Precision Bass, a Jackson Adrian Smith Pro Series, and a Fender Custom Shop Andy Hicks Masterbuilt Dave Murray Stratocaster.
Steve Harris has played the same Fender Precision Bass for most of his career since purchasing it in the mid-seventies. Currently it has his other biggest love represented on it in the form of the West Ham logo, but for those who would prefer a different look, this Limited Edition Satin Black version is available. These certainly won't hang around; the vibe of this one goes back to Iron Maiden's early days, with the look definitely reminding us of the one that he played at the legendary Live At The Rainbow show in December 1980 - exactly 40 years ago!
Steve wanted the pickup to sound like an off-the-shelf Fender pickup from back in the day, and this pickup was developed to replicate the sound of a serial number from that period. It certainly gives it a different sound to his signature Seymour Duncan Steve Harris pickup. The mirror pickguard remains but a vintage-style bridge has been added as opposed to the Fender High-Mass bridge of his other signature model. The bass also features a 50th anniversary neckplate to help celebrate this Maiden milestone. Steve Harris blazed his own path across the globe and continues to inspire generation after generation of music lovers. Whilst the guitar ships with Fender round-wound strings on it, if you want it setup with the Rotosound Steve Harris signature flat wounds, we can do that FOC for you - just contact us after ordering and let us know.
Up the Irons!
