Description

As 2024 marks the platinum anniversary of the iconic Stratocaster, the Fender Custom Shop celebrated with the introduction of the Limited Edition 70th Anniversary Stratocaster NOS. Seven decades of unmatched influence on the music world culminate in this exclusive model, designed to pay homage to the golden era of the electric guitar.

The guitar features a two-piece select alder body, renowned for its lively resonance and well-balanced tone. While Fender initially offered this model in a striking Bright Sapphire Metallic finish, this particular Stratocaster stands out due to being custom ordered by us in Fiesta Red, a colour famously associated with Hank Marvin. Coupled with gold hardware, the Fiesta Red exudes a stunning aesthetic that is both elegant and refined - appealing to collectors and players who value the beauty of a pristine, non-aged instrument without the relic treatments.

The neck of this guitar is a showstopper in itself, made from one-piece 4A flame maple, delivering both aesthetic beauty and exceptional playability. The neck's 10/'56 Soft "V" profile ensures comfort and familiarity, whether for long playing sessions or intricate lead work. The fingerboard boasts a 9.5" radius with 21 Medium Vintage gold frets (47095), lending a smooth and responsive playing experience, while the abalone dot markers add an additional touch of class to the look. The neck is capped off with a bone nut, further contributing to the guitar's resonant tone and tuning stability.

The Limited Edition 70th Anniversary Stratocaster is equipped with three Custom Shop hand-wound Fat '50s Stratocaster pickups featuring gold magnets, which deliver that legendary, bell-like Strat tone with a punch of clarity. The pickups capture the crisp highs and well-balanced mids and lows that Stratocasters are famous for, creating a sonic palette perfect for everything from shimmering clean tones to bluesy overdrive.

Another feature of this guitar is its Vintage Modified #2 wiring with a Tone-Saver bleed circuit. This circuitry ensures that the guitar maintains its tonal clarity even when the volume is rolled down, allowing players to clean up their sound without sacrificing brightness - a hallmark feature for those who want their guitar to remain articulate in all volume settings.

Visually, the guitar's 11-hole single-ply parchment pickguard provides a vintage aesthetic, complementing the body's Fiesta Red finish. Additional premium appointments include the Custom Shop vintage synchronised tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuners, and a wing string tree - ensuring stability and accuracy with every note. A special 70th Anniversary Stratocaster neck plate further signifies this guitar's exclusivity, commemorating seven decades of Stratocaster legacy.

Included with this guitar is a deluxe embroidered hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity, solidifying its status as a collector's item.

For players or collectors who purchase this guitar, it offers the rare opportunity to own what is likely the only Fiesta Red 70th Anniversary Stratocaster with gold hardware ever made. Unlike a typical custom order where one waits in anticipation for the final product, this guitar is available for immediate purchase - allowing customers to see the stunning result firsthand. The combination of custom-shop craftsmanship, beautiful design, and sonic versatility make this Stratocaster an exceptional investment, both as a playable guitar and a collector's gem.
