Jeff Beck is widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. His revolutionary approach to guitar and incredible songwriting ability created a spellbinding magic that even today sees him revered above all others!

Jeff Beck’s famously customised 1954 Les Paul™, affectionately known as the "Oxblood" for its distinctive dark brown finish, gained legendary status after appearing on the cover of his groundbreaking solo debut Blow by Blow. The original guitar recently made headlines when it sold at auction for a record $1.3 million. In 2009, Gibson Custom honoured its legacy with a limited run of just 50 aged replicas, which are now highly valued by collectors. Today, Epiphone in partnership with Gibson Custom proudly presents the Jeff Beck Oxblood 1954 Les Paul, a faithful tribute to this iconic instrument.

The Oxblood Les Paul features a Mahogany body with a plain grain Maple top. This classic Les Paul tone wood formula delivers powerful, yet dynamic tones. The iconic Oxblood finish has been perfectly recreated and looks exactly like Jeff’s original guitar.

The one-piece Mahogany neck features a long tenon construction, which offers increased sustain and resonance across the whole guitar. The neck profile is an extremely close replica of Jeff’s actual guitar. Back in 2009, the Gibson Custom shop team scanned every inch of Jeff’s original guitar. Thanks to this scan data, Epiphone have perfectly recreated the shape and overall feel of Jeff’s guitar. This guitar also features an Indian Rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, a Graph Tech nut, Aged Mother of Perl Trapezoid inlay, a 43mm nut width, and a Gibson open book headstock with Schaller M6 90 tuning machines.

It is powered by a pair of USA made Gibson Custombucker humbucker™ pickups, connected to CTS® potentiometers and Mallory capacitors using classic 1950s style wiring. Other carefully considered details have been included to match the original guitar, such as gold Speed knobs, a Les Paul pickguard with a gap above the bridge pickup, and a Gibson Historic Wraparound bridge. It comes packaged in an Epiphone hardshell case with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics and includes a vintage-style replica strap.
