The Barrows Fuzz Attacker is EarthQuaker Devices' modern tribute to the legendary Tone Bender MKII circuit. Built around three carefully matched germanium transistors, it delivers everything from smooth, amp-like distortion to crushing fuzz with near-infinite sustain.
The Level control sets output volume, with unity gain around noon and plenty of boost available to push your amp. The Attack knob shapes the character of the fuzz, ranging from subtle breakup to full-blown saturation. Touch sensitivity and dynamic response are preserved throughout, making it highly expressive and musical.
Modern upgrades include a phase-corrected buffered output for pedalboard compatibility, increased output volume, and a compact footprint. The Barrows is hand-built in the USA and designed to deliver vintage tone with contemporary reliability.
