The Iberia range from Cordoba gives players a chance to get experience the brand's design and build expertise at an affordable price point.  The GK Studio Negra Lefty is a strong seller in the Cordoba range perfect for someone looking to get out playing some flamenco music live, in the studio or at home.

Flamenco guitars tend to have a lower action than classical guitars.  The reason for this is classical players will want to play various dynamics without getting any fret buzz from the guitar.  Flamenco players on the other hand embrace the buzz as part of the sound and in fact even require it for some techniques.  They are usually built with a spruce top (whereas a classical tends to use spruce or cedar) and cypress back and sides - for bright, snappy attack.  Cordoba also make a range of 'negra' models to compliment the aforementioned 'blanca' models.  These will feature a different wood choice for the back and sides.

In this instance, the GK Studio Negra Lefty goes with the standard spruce top (in this case solid) but with rosewood back and sides.  This gives both a beautiful appearance but also a fantastic tone.  This will give a bassier tone than the blanca models.  The body is a little thinner than a classical guitar (as is the nut width and neck itself) and a clear tap plate is installed on the top (to protect it from the flamenco style).  The neck is fitted with a two-way truss rod so that the action can be adjusted over time if needed or desired.

The pickup is a Fishman Presys Blend which includes both an internal mic and an undersaddle piezo.  This gives the ultimate combo of the power of the piezo and the warmth and honesty of the mic.

When buying a guitar such as this, you are at a huge advantage shopping with Peach as we do in-house studio photography on each individual model, meaning you know exactly what the wood looks like before you buy.
