Another stunner from the wonderful folks at Anderson Guitars. This would make a perfect guitar for the session players or hobbyists that want a Swiss Army Knife; there is nothing on here that is going to hold you back. Angel is the word Anderson use for their 24-fret beauties, and the Li'L part of the name refers to the shorter 24.75" scale length. Great for slinky bends and vibrato, or for those with smaller hands. When you combine that shorter scale length with the very high-quality Stainless Steel jumbo frets and a fantastic setup, you can start to imagine how this guitar just feels like butter in your hands. Like all Anderson guitars, it also has a compound 12-14" radius, allowing for a super-low action (if wanted) without bends choking out.
The body is basswood, which Anderson recommend for their humbucker equipped guitars. It also mean the guitar is incredibly lightweight, coming in at just 6lbs and 6 ounces! That is one comfortable and resonant guitar! Whilst we're talking of body woods, check out the gorgeous maple top - it's very striking, especially given the clean aesthetics of this guitar, such as the pickups having no mounting rings and the classy binding around the top.
The neck on this one is caramelised maple, which offers excellent stability, and the rosewood fingerboard is beautifully dark. Anderson just nail every aspect of their builds. For the neck profile on this one, we've gone for the Even-Taper profile. This is the slimmest and most modern of the Anderson necks, perfectly suited to the vibe of this guitar - built so that you have no limitations.
The humbuckers are from the HC series. These are great sounding humbuckers, that get the job done without becoming sterile. They offer a traditional, creamy and articulate output; vintage-inspired with loads of musicality. The neck pickup is the HC1 and the bridge is the HC3, which is a fraction hotter, making it easier to push a valve amp into breakup and get great lead sounds. Plus, the pickups are splittable for even more versatility.
The guitar also features the Buzz Feiten tuning system, meaning the intonation on this guitar will be way above that of a normal guitar. You can play octaves and chords all over the neck without some sounding better than others. This is a guitar of pure class. Highly recommended!
