At first glance, the Drop Top's allure is undeniable, thanks to its signature "dropped" exotic wood top. Crafted with precision, this bent contour not only enhances aesthetics but also ensures a comfortable playing experience with swooping body lines and a forearm contour that feels like an extension of your picking arm.
The body construction of the Drop Top is a harmonious blend of materials, featuring a flame Maple top paired with Alder. This combination yields a rich, full-bodied sound with a balanced tonal spectrum.
Finished in a striking Ultraviolet Blue with Blue Edge Burst with binding and a matching back, the Drop Top exudes elegance from every angle. The beautiful high-gloss finish adds a touch of sophistication, complementing the guitar's aesthetic appeal.
The neck of the Drop Top is crafted from Maple, with a Rosewood fingerboard that adds a rich, dark appearance. The Even-Taper neck profile and 1 11/16" nut width ensure a smooth playing experience, allowing for effortless transitions up and down the fretboard.
One of the most notable features of the Drop Top is its fretwork. Equipped with heavy stainless steel frets, this guitar offers unparalleled playability and responsiveness. The stainless steel frets provide a silky smooth feel, allowing for effortless string bends and fluid vibrato.
In terms of electronics, the Drop Top is equipped with SC1 single coils in the neck and middle position and a HC2+ in the bridge. The SC1 neck delivers a classic hum-cancelling single-coil tone with an output slightly higher than vintage, whilst the HC2+ bridge pickup offers a thick, full, and hot tone that produces a legato-like fluidity. With a 5-way switching system and Splitter switch, players have access to a wide range of versatile tones, making this guitar suitable for any musical style.
Additionally, all Anderson guitars come equipped with the Buzz Feiten Tuning System, ensuring precise intonation and accurate tuning across the fretboard.
