Highlighted by a TFT Display Screen, the Taylor Beacon offers a Thin Film Transistor (TFT) colour LCD screen that produces a sharp and bright image, ensuring easy visibility. The tuner functionality provides selectable CGBVU tuning modes (Chromatic, Guitar, Bass, Violin, Ukulele) and features an easy-to-read dot/strobe display for fast and precise tuning calibration. Users can also choose reference pitch Hz values ranging from 430 to 450 Hz.
For rhythm control, the metronome feature allows users to select from 12 pre-set time signatures and set the beats per minute (bpm) within the range of 30 to 208 bpm. The click volume is adjustable to three levels - no sound, low, and high. An LED display moves back and forth between beats, enhancing the visual cue.
The timer function has a maximum allotted time of 89 minutes and 59 seconds. When the time elapses, the timer resets to zero and continues, and holding the button resets it to zero instantly. Notably, the timer continues running while in any other mode.
The countdown feature is designed to track live sets or practice sessions, allowing users to set it for up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds. The countdown continues even while using other modes, and a sonic alarm feature activates when the countdown reaches zero, sounding even while using another mode.
For added convenience, a flashlight is located on the back of the device, serving as a handy tool for reading sheet music or finding lost picks in dark settings. Users can turn the flashlight on/off by simultaneously pressing the Up and Down buttons.
The Taylor Beacon is designed for hassle-free use with its USB rechargeable feature, and a cable is included for charging. With a long-lasting charge and a 3-band battery life display, the device eliminates the need for disposable batteries.
