The Synergy SYN-20IR 1x12 Combo Amp is designed to be the most flexible and tonally expansive all-valve combo in the Synergy lineup. Built around Synergy's patented modular preamp system, it allows players to instantly swap preamp modules and access an ever-growing library of tones based on some of the most iconic amplifiers ever made. The onboard clean channel is voiced after classic vintage American combos, and when paired with the two channels from any Synergy module, the SYN-20IR becomes a fully fledged three-channel all-valve platform capable of covering everything from sparkling cleans to modern high-gain aggression.

Each Synergy module is a dual-channel, all-valve design loaded with two 12AX7s and built with the exact preamp circuitry of the amplifier it is based on. Synergy works directly with each brand partner to ensure the modules capture the authentic character of the originals, often adding extra features that the real amps never had. With officially licenced modules from Bogner, Diezel, Friedman, Fryette, Marshall, Morgan, Peavey, Soldano, Tone King and more, plus Synergy's own modules inspired by Dumble, Fender and Mesa classics, the tonal range available to the SYN-20IR is enormous.

The power section is driven by a pair of EL84 valves delivering 20 watts, making the combo ideal for home use, studio recording, rehearsals and live performance. Despite its compact size, the SYN-20IR is packed with modern features. Its onboard IR engine runs on a dedicated 500 MHz ARM DSP processor, delivering cabinet simulations with under 1ms of latency. Four IRs can be stored onboard, and each of the amp's three channels can have its own IR assigned directly from the front panel. You can also load your own IRs and manage the included library of 13 using the free Synergy Editor software.

One of the SYN-20IR's most powerful features is its advanced power amp control. The Structure switch offers three distinct power amp behaviours that dramatically change the feel and response of the amp. Mode A provides balanced negative feedback for a clear, punchy tone. Mode B uses a vintage-style phase inverter for relaxed mids and a bright, shimmering top end. Mode C delivers a modern, tight feel with reduced negative feedback, solid lows and a darker high end. These Structure modes can be assigned per channel, allowing you to tailor the power section to each sound. The Reactance control works like a dynamic presence control, shaping the mid and treble frequencies while interacting with the phase inverter for a more responsive, amp-like feel.

The combo is loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30, one of the most respected speakers in the world, known for its vocal midrange, detailed highs and tight low end. It is an ideal match for the wide range of tones the SYN-20IR can produce. The amp also supports completely silent operation, allowing you to run direct to front of house, a recording interface or headphones without connecting a speaker. The XLR DI output includes ground lift, and the headphone output has its own dedicated volume control.

Full MIDI capability is built in, and the included 3-button MIDI footswitch allows you to save and recall combinations of channels, Structure modes and IR selections. External MIDI controllers can access up to 128 presets, all easily managed through the Synergy Editor software. The SYN-20IR also features an ultra-transparent series effects loop, multiple speaker outputs, and a universal voltage selector that allows the amp to be used anywhere in the world without rebiasing or external transformers.
