The Sterling by Music Man SUB Series Axis AX3FM is a modern take on one of the most iconic shapes in guitar design. With its updated flame maple veneer top, asymmetrical neck profile and versatile 5-way switching, the AX3FM blends classic inspiration with contemporary playability in a lightweight, stage-ready build.
The body is crafted from jabon and topped with a striking flame maple veneer. The compact, contoured shape sits comfortably against the player, while the fulcrum tremolo bridge adds expressive vibrato without compromising tuning stability.
A hard maple neck and fingerboard deliver a bright, snappy response, with a smooth satin feel that makes the guitar fast and comfortable to play. The 25.5" scale length provides familiar tension and clarity, while the 12" radius and narrow 22-fret layout make bends, chords and lead lines feel effortless. The asymmetrical neck carve gives the Axis its signature comfort, and the black dot markers keep the look clean and modern.
The dual Alnico humbuckers provide punchy, dynamic tone with plenty of clarity. Thanks to the 5-way selector, the AX3FM offers far more versatility than a typical HH guitar, unlocking split-coil and parallel-style tones that cover everything from bright, glassy cleans to thick, driven rock sounds.
