Schaller, established in 1945, is a high end manufacturer of a wide variety of parts and accessories for many musical instruments, with a majority of these parts being for guitars. They are most famous for their fully enclosed machine heads, which are used in a large variety of top-of-the-line, high quality guitars, as well as being available separately as an extra cost option. As well as producing these machine heads, Schaller are also well known for producing high quality Straplocks, used to secure guitars to their straps.
Schaller first started off as a radio repair shop, but then quickly moved on to providing high quality instrument parts to many different reputable companies and musicians, including Les Paul who once met the founder, Helmut Schaller. Schaller operate from their single location in Postbauer-Heng, Germany and employ around 160 people as of 2006.
