The PRS Modern Eagle V is one of those guitars. This example is a truly stunning Private Stock model, built to the highest possible standards using hand selected woods, this really is the height of modern guitar construction.
Sporting a pristine Curly Maple top picked from the PRS Private Stock Vault, which is finished in the incredible Frostbite Glow. Thanks to the High Gloss Nitro finish the colour is super vibrant and powerful, the Nitro finish also allows the wood to breathe more effectively compared to other finishes. This Modern Eagle benefits from a Ribbon Mahogany body for a tonewood match made in heaven. Rich, resonant and tonally versatile, this is the epitome of high end performance.
The Ziricote neck is absolutely sublime, it features some awesome natural grain figuring which really highlights the beauty of this illusive tone wood. It includes the PRS Pattern neck-carve which is smooth and super comfortable, allowing for quick and easy movements across the neck.
The Fingerboard is one of many eye-catching features of this Private Stock, featuring Matching small bird inlays with Mother of Pearl outlines. Finally the neck is beautifully finished with a Ziricote headstock veneer adorned with the iconic Private Stock Eagle sitting proudly. The Attention to detail on this fretboard is truly astonishing and really shows why the PRS Private Stock is held in such high regard.
Equipped with a Smoked Black PRS Gen III tremolo, the Modern Eagle is always perfectly intonated and responsive to your playing. Flawless tuning stability comes courtesy of the Phase III locking tuners with Ziricote buttons.
All these luxury appointments would be irrelevant though if it wasn't equipped with a pickup selection to match. A pair of Paul’s TCI pickups sit either side of a Narrow single coil, delivering just the punch that this guitar needs, with a whole range of tonal variations, the Modern Eagle is a powerhouse both on stage and in the studio. Featuring a master volume and tone with a 5 way bladeswitch alongside 3 mini switches, you really can sculpt this guitar to your own personal taste.
Housed in a PRS Private Stock Paisley hardcase, it's a real masterpiece.
