Here at Peach Guitars, we’re proud to have built a fantastic relationship with Dennis and the team at Novo Guitars. As the exclusive UK dealer for the brand, we love working closely together to create exciting and unique limited run instruments for both our customers and store. This particular Novo Serus T really does represent this unique relationship and creative design process. While discussing specs for an upcoming build batch, Peach Guitars Director John Priest wanted to try something a little different. The idea was simple, start with the Serus T body shape, give it a natural back, and then finish the top with something bold, classy, and vibrant. After a few conversations, the spec was nailed down and agreed upon. This limited run of Serus T's is exclusive to us here at Peach Guitars and will be made up of 8 unique instruments.
This Serus T combines elements of our favourite Fullerton built instruments with Novo’s attention to detail and finesse. It features Novo’s Serus T body shape crafted entirely from Tempered Pine, which is an extremely lightweight and resonant wood. Novo use tempered pine on almost every Serus model, so it really was a natural starting point for this design. As the Pine body has been thermally treated, it has the same sustain and lively acoustic response you would expect from an instrument built in the 1960s. It’s also extremely stable and resistant to any humidity or temperature changes. Alongside the vibrant top stain, it also features white body binding, which really gives the guitar a premium look and feel.
The tempered maple neck is extremely comfortable and easy to navigate. One of the most common comments we hear from customers is about just how smooth and comfortable Novo necks feel, and that really comes down to a combination of things. Each neck is cut and shaped using a CNC process, which gives incredibly consistent results. From there, every neck is sprayed, aged, and finished by hand. They feel extremely smooth and really are a joy to play. This particular Serus T features a Medium C neck shape, East Indian Rosewood fingerboard, 25.5” scale length, 9.5”-14” radius, Jescar 47095 frets, and MOTO dot inlays.
One of the most exciting aspects of this build is the pickup combination. John decided to spec this guitar with a Fralin high output Tele pickup in the bridge, and a Fralin P-45 in the bridge. This combination gives you access to some really unique and enjoyable tones that are fun and super inspiring. It also features a T-style bridge plate with compensated brass saddles, Novo tuners, Stringjoy 10-48 strings, and a Novo deluxe padded soft case.
We’re super pleased with how this collection of instruments has turned out. It’s great to see how an initial idea can quickly be turned into a world class, one of a kind instrument. We love these guitars and everything Novo is about, so if you’re looking for something unique, you must check this out.
