The MXR Flanger/Doubler recreates the original MXR rack unit in pedal form, authentically capturing the classic all‑analog flanger and doubler sounds heard on landmark recordings from the 70s and 80s. Built around genuine bucket‑brigade devices and the original control set, it delivers everything from sweeping jet‑engine motion to thickened studio‑style doubling.

This circuit is famously associated with Dimebag Darrell, whose signature swirling, metallic modulation came from the original MXR rack. The pedal brings that same aggressive movement and vocal resonance to a modern format, making it ideal for players chasing those iconic tones or exploring the wider experimental range the unit offers.

The pedal features two distinct voices. The flanger mode produces metallic resonance and dramatic movement, while the doubler mode adds a slightly offset second track layer for chorusing textures or tight slapback delay. Manual, Width and Speed controls shape the sweep, while the Regen knob uses feedback to take the modulation from smooth colouration to aggressive resonance. The Mix knob blends dry and wet signals from fully dry to fully wet.

Two LEDs display instantaneous delay time, reacting to Speed, Width and Manual settings for quick visual feedback on stage. The Invert switch flips the polarity of the wet signal, unlocking airy, hollow vocality or bold low‑mid punch. CV In and Out jacks allow integration with synths, sequencers and CV‑capable expression pedals, while the Line Level switch ensures optimal performance with hot signals.

For players chasing vintage swirl, thick doubling or the unmistakable Dimebag‑style roar, the MXR Flanger/Doubler revives a studio classic with modern pedalboard flexibility.
