Back in 1992, Mesa Boogie released an amplifier that truly altered the course of guitar history. We are of course talking about the truly legendary, Dual Rectifier Solo head! This stunning piece of technology marked a new paradigm in high-gain heavy guitar. It delivered a new voice that featured a scooped midrange, ominous low end, and ripping, harmonic-laden top end woven into a mighty wall of tube gain. It’s iconic sound inspired just about every guitarist around at the time and ultimately lead to the creation of some of Rock & Metal’s most influential records.
We’re thrilled to announce that the amplifier that truly started the Dual Rectifier family is back, and better than ever! Introducing the Mesa Boogie 90s Dual Rectifier Standard Head! This faithful recreation pays tribute to some of the earliest Dual Rectifier models.
This 2-Channel, 6L6 100-watt amplifier takes you right back to the early 90s. Straight out of the box you’re hit with that legendary Dual Rectifier tone and feel. It’s extremely dynamic and super inspiring.
Channel 1 "Orange" features Clean or Variable High Gain modes. Thanks to the rear mounted Channel Style (Cloning) switch, it can also be set to Modern High Gain ("Red") mode. Independent gain, treble, middle, bass, presence, and master controls allow you to sculpt this incredible amp to taste.
Channel 2 "Red" features a Modern High Gain mode, or with the rear mounted Channel Style (Cloning) switch, it can be set to Variable "Vintage" High Gain ("Orange") mode. This channel also features independent gain, treble, middle, bass, presence, and master controls.
In classic Dual Rectifier fashion, this amplifier features both Tube/Valve or Silicon Diode rectification options. Each setting will greatly effect the amplifiers sound, character and feel, which further expands this amplifiers sonic potential. The Bold/Spongy "Variac" switch will slightly alter the amplifiers voltage setting, allowing you to give your Dual Rectifier increased harmonic richness and an elastic feel. The Tube driven series FX loop works brilliantly and responds well to all sorts of pedals, you’ll easily be able to add this amplifier to your current set up.
Here’s a chance to own an original icon built by the same artisans who built them 30 years ago, and have a new amp warranty. Don’t miss out!
