The Martin Custom Shop Eric Clapton Crossroads 000-42 Ziricote acoustic guitar represents the next incredible collaboration between Eric Clapton and Martin Guitars. Available for a limited time, this model is the first time a Martin guitar has been created for Clapton with the breath-taking tonewood that is Ziricote. Visually beautiful, each piece of Ziricote back and sides has its own unique grain pattern, giving it a bold, adventurous style with luxurious appeal. Ziricote also provides a strong, complex voice with exceptional clarity and deep sustain.
The Crossroads 000-42 Ziricote is a continuation of special signature models inspired by the guitar Clapton used during his famous MTV Unplugged performance. Designed to capture the tone and character of a pre-war Martin, it features premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship, making it an excellent choice for both collectors and serious musicians.
This guitar is built with a solid Adirondack spruce top finished in 1935 Sunburst, offering a rich, resonant tone with excellent articulation and projection. Inside, the scalloped Adirondack spruce Golden Era bracing increases resonance and sustain, ensuring a powerful, full-bodied sound. All adorned with Style 42 pearl appointments as well as Martin exclusive gold enclosed gear tuners.
For playability, the genuine mahogany neck is shaped to an Authentic 1939 profile with a slightly thinner nut width, providing a comfortable grip for a variety of playing styles. The Ebony fingerboard, adorned with Golden Era 42-style snowflake inlays, enhances both aesthetics and smooth playability. The combination of these features ensures a vintage-inspired feel with modern precision.
