The Lollar P-90 Soapbar 50s Wind Neck pickup is a faithful recreation of the pickups found in electric blues legend Sean Costello's 1954 Les Paul Goldtop. Based on Jason Lollar's meticulous reverse engineering of Sean's original pickups, this neck model delivers the clarity, sparkle and dynamic immediacy that defined those early P-90s.
Using lower output magnets that are specifically degaussed for a brighter, more percussive response, the 50s Wind shifts emphasis toward the top end while reducing the typical P-90 midrange grind. It is noticeably less hot than Lollar's Standard P-90, offering a cleaner, chimey voice with excellent note separation and a lively, articulate attack.
This neck pickup is ideal for players seeking a clear, expressive P-90 sound inspired by Sean Costello and the 50s and 60s era tones of blues icons like Freddie King and Hubert Sumlin.
