The Lollar Original 58 Jazzmaster Set is voiced directly from the pickups in Jason Lollar's own pre-production Jazzmaster, giving you a sound that is true to the earliest examples of the model. These pickups deliver the unmistakable, wide and open Jazzmaster character, but with refinements that make them more articulate, more balanced and more musical than many modern stock versions.
Compared to typical large single-coils, the Original 58 set offers a more percussive low end and a clearer, more defined midrange, helping chords stay tight and single notes cut through without harshness. The bridge pickup is wound hotter to ensure proper volume and tonal balance between positions, giving you a smooth transition from neck to bridge without the drop-off that can occur with vintage-style sets.
The overall voice is dynamic, touch-sensitive and full of the airy, piano-like attack that defines a great Jazzmaster. Whether you are playing clean, surf-inspired lines or pushing into more driven textures, the Original 58 Set remains articulate, expressive and unmistakably vintage in character.
Average DC resistance: Neck 8.4K, Bridge 8.8K.
