The Ibanez SR bass range has long been associated with delivering incredible bang for your buck bass punch. Coming in well under £1000, the Ibanez SRH500-NNF Fretless in Natural Brown Burst Flat offers specs you just don't see on guitars within this price bracket.
The super resonant, semi hollow Okoume body has slick curves and a sweet Spruce top, the wood can really breathe and in turn produces lush, deep bass tones. The unique sound hole and semi hollow construction give a rich acoustic tone, almost like an electric upright bass. With a forearm contour you get enhanced playability and comfort while also adding a touch of elegance. The SR neck is known for its slim, easy to play profile, with a 5 piece Jatoba/Walnut construction it has enhanced sustain, stability and is just begging to be played. The contoured neck heel allows easier access to the upper frets and has a really unique look.
It has a standard 34" scale length and a bound Panga Panga fingerboard with a comfortable 305mm radius and 38mm nut width.
The AeroSilk Piezo pickup delivers a super strong signal and insane note definition. With the fretless neck it really does give the tonal quality of an upright bass. It's a really great alternative for players looking for that organic tone but in a portable, electric format.
