The Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut returns to the main Gibson lineup, bringing a classic design back to life for modern players. Originally introduced in 1955 as an upgraded take on the Les Paul Junior, it offered the same solid mahogany build and stripped-back attitude, but with dual pickups, independent controls, and a three-way selector for greater tonal range.

By 1958, the model had evolved into a double cutaway shape for improved upper fret access, and later adopted the fast SlimTaper neck profile that players still love today. This new version stays true to that golden-era design, delivering the raw, expressive character that has made the Les Paul Special Double Cut a favourite among players for decades.

As the name suggests, the Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut features an all-mahogany body with twin cutaways. This design not only gives the guitar a distinctive look but also provides easier access to the upper frets, making it comfortable and practical for a wide range of playing styles. These guitars are really well weighted and well balanced, making them super comfortable to play both standing.

The traditional Mahogany neck features a classic SlimTaper neck profile, which really is a huge part of what makes these guitars so cool. This shape feels great in your hands and allows for super easy navigation, so you can play as quick as your hands will let you. The bound Rosewood fingerboard features a 24.75” scale length, 43.05mm nut width, 22 frets, and acrylic dot inlays. The headstock is fitted with smooth, precise Gibson Vintage Deluxe tuners with white buttons and a mother of pearl Gibson logo. Together with the Graph Tech nut, they provide excellent tuning stability and a reliable feel. At the other end, the strings pass over a simple wraparound bridge and tailpiece that mounts directly to the mahogany body. This setup, complete with adjustable intonation screws, helps deliver the resonance, sustain, and solid tone that the Les Paul Special Double Cut is known for.
