The Gibson Les Paul Special was first introduced back in 1955 as a halfway point between the Les Paul Junior and the more expensive Les Paul Standard. Popular because of its stripped down, no nonsense aesthetic and raw power, this Les Paul Special Double Cut delivers vintage vibes and serious attitude.
With a solid Mahogany body and figured Maple top, finished in a VOS Cobra Burst, this is super resonant and really nicely balanced. The 60s SlimTaper Mahogany neck is topped with a crisp Indian Rosewood fingerboard with Pearloid dot inlays, this guitar looks every bit the real deal. With a 24.75" scale length, 12" radius, 1.687" nut width, and 22 medium jumbo frets, it retains that classic Les Paul DC feel. The ABR-1 bridge and stopbar offer an authentic vintage vibe.
The defining feature of the Gibson Custom Les Paul DC is the custom wound Gibson Custom Bucker Alnico 3 pickups. According to Gibson these are some of the most historically accurate PAF clones on the market, with an ultra-rich harmonic quality; it's as close as you can get to the classic Les Paul tone.
