The Fender American Vintage II 1963 Telecaster recreates one of the most characterful periods in Tele history, built with period accurate tonewoods, hardware and electronics. By 1963, Fender had refined the Telecaster with a round lam rosewood fingerboard that added warmth and depth to the classic Tele twang, pairing beautifully with the punch and focus of an alder or ash body. This Vintage Blonde model features an ash body for clear highs, defined mids and a resonant low end.
A comfortable 1963 C shape maple neck is matched with a 7.25 inch radius round lam rosewood fingerboard and vintage tall frets, delivering the unmistakable feel of an early 60s Tele. The Pure Vintage 63 Telecaster pickups are voiced to reproduce the clarity, bite and dynamic response of the originals, constructed with period correct materials including cloth covered wire, fibre bobbins and alnico magnets.
Hardware is equally authentic, including a Pure Vintage 3 saddle Tele bridge with threaded steel barrel saddles, single line Fender Deluxe tuners and a vintage style string tree. The gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the ash body to resonate freely, just as the original instruments did. Every detail is crafted to match the look, sound and feel of the golden era Telecasters.
The American Vintage II series represents Fender electrics in their purest form, built for players who appreciate vintage tone, feel and craftsmanship down to the last screw.
