The Fender American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster is a meticulously crafted recreation of one of the most celebrated eras in Fender history. Built with period accurate tonewoods, hardware and electronics, it captures the feel, sound and aesthetic of an early 60s Strat in every detail. By 1961, the Stratocaster had evolved into a more refined instrument, with a vibrant reformulated 3Colour Sunburst option and a 3ply pickguard that accentuated its flowing contours. This Surf Green finish channels the same era defining style.
A premium alder body is paired with a medium C shape maple neck and a 7.25 inch radius slab rosewood fingerboard, delivering the unmistakable playing feel of a true vintage Strat. The trio of Pure Vintage 1961 Stratocaster pickups are voiced to replicate the clarity, chime and dynamic response of the originals, using period correct materials such as cloth covered wire, fibre bobbins and alnico magnets.
Hardware is equally authentic, including a Pure Vintage synchronised tremolo with a cold rolled steel block and bent steel saddles, single line Fender Deluxe tuners and a vintage style string tree. Much of the hardware is still produced on original 50s and 60s Fender factory machines, preserving the character and function of the golden era instruments.
The American Vintage II series represents Fender electrics in their purest form, built for players who appreciate vintage tone, feel and craftsmanship down to the last screw.
