    Ernie Ball Slinky Nickel Wound 6 String Bass sets are made from nickel plated steel wrapped around a hex shaped steel core wire, delivering a bright, balanced tone with the familiar feel of Slinky construction. Unlike traditional bass strings, these use small guitarstyle ball ends, making them suitable for specific 6 string bass designs that require this format.

    The plain strings are crafted from specially tempered tin plated high carbon steel for strength, stability and a clear, articulate top end. String lengths vary to accommodate different tensions and taper requirements: .020 to .054 are 48 inches long, the .074 is 39.5 inches with a taper at 37 inches, and the .090 is 40 inches with a taper at 34.5 inches. Due to these specifications, the set may not be compatible with reverse headstock instruments.
