The Epiphone Prophecy series is back and better than ever! Over the past few years, the Epiphone team has been working on redesigning this series from the ground up, with a real focus on delivering the speed, precision and tone that modern players crave. The Prophecy range is Epiphone's most progressive and modern range yet, so if you're looking for a high-performance instrument with killer modern features, this is the range for you!
The Gibson Les Paul is one of the most loved guitar shapes ever produced, so it's great to see it available in the Epiphone Prophecy series. Baritone guitars are incredibly cool and really do bring out a totally different side to your playing. The extended scale length allows this guitar to be tuned much lower, giving you access to a range of notes that wouldn't have been possible before.
This Les Paul Baritone features a traditional mahogany body, maple top, and a highly figured flame maple veneer that really adds a touch of class to the design. The mahogany body features Epiphone's ultra modern weigh relief design, which helps to reduce the overall weight of the guitar, while also keeping it well balanced and resonant. The satin finish feels great and is accented with multi-ply body binding, blending Gibson's traditional values and design principles with a modern approach.
The one-piece maple neck has been thermally aged, which is a really premium, high-end feature, so it's great to see it used on this range. Thermal ageing increases the neck's stability and resistance to humidity and temperature changes, which is further enhanced by the graphite reinforcement rods running throughout the neck. The HyperGlide B profile is really comfortable and allows you to navigate the guitar with ease. The dark ebony fingerboard features a 27" scale length, a compound 10"-14" radius, 24 stainless steel frets, and black mother-of-pearl block inlays.
One of the most important parts of the Prophecy series is the custom-voiced Fishman Fluence pickups, which were developed in partnership specifically for the Epiphone Prophecy range. These pickups feature some really advanced technology and give you access to three distinct tonal options via the push/pull master volume and tone controls. You get modern, high-output active humbucker tones, a vintage-inspired PAF-style humbucker tone, and clear single-coil tones.
Other key features of this guitar include black hardware, a LockTone modern bridge, Grover Rotomatic locking tuners, a Graph Tech nut, and a high-quality Protector Ultralite case.
