Green Day co-founder and bassist Mike Dirnt has teamed up with Epiphone to create a signature take on the legendary Gibson Grabber G-3. Famous for his punchy bass lines, driving energy, and unmistakable presence, Dirnt has helped define the sound of one of punk rocks most influential bands. This new signature model pays tribute to the Grabber he's relied on throughout his career, including during the recording of Green Days landmark 1994 album Dookie.
The Epiphone Mike Dirnt Grabber G-3 features a double cutaway Maple body, which is one of the most unique and important part of the Grabber. The Maple body really helps this bass cut through both live, and in a mix. The Silverburst finish looks super slick, its the perfect choice for a bass like this.
This grabber features a 3-piece Maple neck which has a really comfortable C shaped neck profile. The Ebony fingerboard features 20 frets, a 34 scale length, a 41mm nut width, and traditional dot inlays.
This signature model features three Gibson G3 pickups, crafted in Nashville at the Gibson Pickup Shop and wired in the Grabbers unique buck and a half configuration. The three way toggle switch offers a wide range of noiseless tones, letting you choose between the neck and middle pickups for a humbucker style sound, engage all three pickups at once, or use the middle and bridge pair for another powerful humbucking option. With simple master volume and tone controls, the Mike Dirnt G3 delivers an impressive and versatile tonal palette.
With a Leo Quan Badass II bridge, and open gear bass tuners, this Grabber bass delivers really stable tuning, so you wont have to worry about this bass going out of tune while playing live.
This bass is complete with a hardshell case
