The Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue is a faithful recreation of one of the most iconic electric guitars in history. Developed in partnership with Gibson Custom, this model delivers the sound, feel, and look of a genuine 1959 Les Paul Standard at a far more accessible price point. It's designed for players who want vintage authenticity without the collector's price tag.
Built with a solid mahogany body and a carved maple cap topped with AAA flamed maple veneer, this guitar offers both classic tone and stunning aesthetics. The combination of tonewoods delivers a warm, resonant sound with excellent sustain. The body features cream binding on the top and fretboard, enhancing its premium appearance. The Vintage Gloss finish provides a lightly aged look without the excessive wear associated with heavy relic finishes.
The neck is a one-piece mahogany design with a long neck tenon, which increases stability and sustain. It features the authentic 1959 Rounded Medium C profile - a neck shape highly regarded by players for its comfortable, slightly fuller feel. The rosewood fretboard is bound and fitted with mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays, accurately placed vintage-style side dot markers, and a 24.75" scale length. The nut is made from Graph Tech material for reliable tuning stability and a smooth playing experience.
For electronics, the Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue includes a pair of USA-made Gibson Custombucker humbuckers with Alnico 3 magnets. These pickups are hand-wired with high-end CTS potentiometers, Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors, and a Switchcraft selector switch and output jack - all components known for their durability and superior tone quality. This setup delivers a clear, dynamic sound that responds well to both clean and overdriven settings.
Additional features include an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and historical aluminium tailpiece for enhanced tuning stability and sustain, along with nickel-plated Epiphone Deluxe tuners featuring Single Ring Keystone buttons.
