Following on from the huge success of the DA100, Blackstar Amplification proudly unveils its latest signature artist collaboration with guitar virtuoso Doug Aldrich. Known for his impressive career with legendary bands like Whitesnake, Dio, Burning Rain, and The Dead Daisies, Aldrich has ventured into the world of signature amplifiers once more with the DA5 RUBY. His first ever collaboration on an amplifier came with the 100, and now comes the compact version with the DA5.
The DA5 RUBY is the culmination of meticulous research and collaboration between Aldrich and Blackstar. The result is an extraordinary amplifier expertly crafted to capture Aldrich's iconic tone. Believing that great tone should not be restricted to just the big stage, the DA5 encapsulates what made the DA100 so popular and shrinks it down into a size that your every day player can appreciate.
Contrary to other low power valve amps, the DA5 utilises a genuine push/pull valve power stage using a 12BH7 power valve which creates excellent compression and an impressive dynamic range you'd usually only associate with a much larger amp. Using Blackstar's Power Reduction feature you can reduce all the way down to 0.5w, which means you can retain that amazing tone at neighbour-friendly volumes!
Featuring a 12" Aldrich 50 loudspeaker which produces incredible headroom, this compact amp will astonish with amount of projection and tonal range it can produce.
The amp is 2-channel which enables a massive range of tones all worked on between the expert Blackstar team and Doug himself, and a 2-button footswitch is included to change channels with ease.
Other key features include studio quality built in Reverb, a CabRig IR based speaker simulation with built-in user presets, USB-C direct recording, XLR output and load protection for silent recording and practicing.
