The Standard Historic 1959 Standard Les Paul in VOS Iced Tea finish delivers the tone, looks and authentic feel of the iconic original '59 that set the standard. It's great to see Gibson releasing such high spec left handed models and this one is a real beauty.
A book matched flame maple top sits upon a hand-selected one-piece Mahogany body, it is rich, resonant and authentically vintage. This time tested tonewood combo has been around since the very start and with results like this it is easy to see why. For the first time in years Gibson have used real hide glue to attach the top, a big plus for tone purists as hide glue is known to improve the resonance and sustain of the guitar.
With historic appointments such as accurate aniline dye and the renowned sound transference that comes with its long neck tenon, the '59 has been authentically revived for a new audience to enjoy. A pair of PAF styled Custom Bucker pickups provide the rich, deep tones we all know and love. Re-created to the same specs and measurements of the original PAF pickups you really can't get any closer to the real thing!
