The DarkRay boasts a mesmerising appearance with its sparkling Starry Night finish. Crafted in the USA, the DarkRay features a roasted maple neck that provides both stability and a smooth playing experience. The 5-bolt sculpted neck joint ensures optimal transfer of vibrations, resulting in incredible sustain and a balanced tone across the entire instrument. The neck, with its comfortable "C" shape, allows for effortless playability whilst the gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend make for a fast and smooth feel.
Equipped with an ebony fretboard, the DarkRay offers exceptional playability and tonal response. The 11" fretboard radius ensures comfortable string bending and effortless navigation across the 22 stainless steel frets.
The DarkRay is equipped with a custom Darkglass 2-band active preamp, specifically designed for the DarkRay and featuring two distinct distortion circuits: Alpha and Omega. This unique preamp adds an incredible range of tonal possibilities, allowing you to sculpt your sound precisely to your liking. Whether you prefer a clean and punchy tone or a heavily distorted growl, the DarkRay delivers it all. The volume, gain, blend, treble, and bass knobs, along with the 3-way lever distortion selector, put full control over your sound at your fingertips. You can choose between three modes: Preamp Only, Preamp+Alpha Distortion, and Preamp+Omega Distortion, ensuring you have the perfect amount of grit and aggression for every musical situation. A bright LED ring let you easily see what mode you are at a glance.
The DarkRay is powered by a Music Man Neodymium Humbucker located in the bridge position, delivering a powerful and articulate tone with excellent clarity and definition. Its top-loaded steel bridge plate and steel saddles offer stability and enhanced sustain, while the custom lightweight tuning machines with tapered string posts and ergonomic clover design ensure precise tuning and easy string changes.
