Handcrafted by Joe Morgan in Huntington Beach, California, the unique Morgan Amps SJB18 is a custom creation inspired by the Marshall 1974X. This 18W studio/practice amp boasts exceptional articulation and can be easily driven to overdrive at lower volumes, thanks to its power scaling feature. The front panel offers straightforward controls, allowing you to dial back the Power for natural overdrive at lower volumes, adjust the Vol to clean up or push the amp, and fine-tune your sound with the Tone control. On the back panel, choose between dual 8 Ohm speaker outputs or a single 16 Ohm output. The amp's core features a handwired, full-valve construction, utilising dual ECC83S preamp valves and dual EL84 power valves with a 5AR4 rectifier valve, delivering harmonically rich British sound.
Please Note: This amplifier is Pre-Owned but is in Excellent condition. Unfortunately, the tolex is beginning to slightly peel and it's missing its original box but is otherwise in full working order. However, this amplifier comes with no warranty. Back in 2015 Morgan amps were 100% hand built by Joe Morgan in Huntington Beach, California. Morgan Amplification was born out of the need for a simple but great sounding amplifier, one that wasn't built around a bunch of different channels or switches but rather an amplifier that become as much an instrument as your guitar. Morgan are dedicated to building the most touch sensitive, responsive amplifiers they can and to deliver them at a price that is not out of reach for most players. No corners are cut, like many manufacturers - they use nothing but the best tone components they can find to provide a reliable instrument that will bring you pleasure for years to come.
This special Morgan Amps SJB18 is a one-off custom design based on a Marshall 1974X - a 18W studio/practice amp that can easily be pushed to overdrive at lower volumes with amazing articulation - with the massive advantage of power scaling.
On the front panel, you get some pretty simple controls. Dial back the Power control to achieve natural overdrive at even lower volumes. Push the Vol control to hit the amp hard or take it down a notch to clean up your tone. Finally, Tweak to perfection with the Tone control. On the back panel, you have access to dual 8 Ohm speaker outputs or a single 16 Ohm output.
The heart of this amp is made of it's handwired, full-valve construction. With a 5AR4 rectifier valve, use the dual ECC83S preamp valves to push the dual EL84 power valves into harmonically rich tonal goodness for that unmistakable British sound.
