Introducing the Lowden F-38 Special, a masterpiece crafted to commemorate 45 years of the legendary '38' model. This limited edition guitar is a testament to the iconic status and enduring legacy of the original 38, designed by George Lowden himself in 1976. From its humble beginnings as a prototype, this guitar captivated the world with its exceptional sound and craftsmanship.
The story of the 38 is woven into the fabric of guitar history. Folk Quincampoix, a renowned store in Paris, France, recognised its brilliance immediately and placed an order for six guitars upon their first encounter. Such was the demand that four more were requested every month thereafter. The 38's reputation soared even higher when Irish musician Paul Brady gifted one to the legendary Eric Clapton in 1996. Clapton, in turn, used it extensively on his album 'Pilgrim' and during his mesmerising performance at the 1997 Grammy Awards.
To honour this monumental guitar, the Batch 45 Special Edition was created, featuring three unique models with new and bespoke wood combinations. Only 45 of these guitars will ever be available worldwide, making each one a truly exclusive collector's item. Furthermore, each model will be exclusively sold by just 15 select stores across the globe, of which Peach Guitars are proudly one.
The F-38 Special boasts a stunning combination of Indian Rosewood back and sides, which deliver rich and resonant tones, and a Lutz Spruce soundboard that adds depth and clarity to every note. The 38-style appointments throughout pay homage to the original, including an exquisite leaf inlay pattern on the ebony fingerboard, abalone soundboard inlays, a Rosewood headplate, and Maple bindings. Each guitar is a work of art, with its unique internal label individually numbered and hand-signed by the master luthier himself, George Lowden.
