John Cruz is known across the globe as one of Fenders highly revered Masterbuilders, a select group of the worlds most esteemed luthiers. With this Godly status, any guitar with his name attached generates a huge amount of interest, and rightly so.
The Fender Custom Shop John Cruz Masterbuilt '62 Jaguar is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
The Alder body is typically comfortable thanks to the lush sweeping curves, and with a crisp Olympic White NOS finish it looks real slick. The NOS finish gives the appearance of a New Old Stock guitar, one that has been perfectly preserved since 1962 and doesn't feature any kind of ageing or relic work. This finish is super thin though and it will age, you can already see the lacquer starting to check adn crack around the neck pocket. ( See our studio photos for details)
The Quartersawn Maple neck features an AAA grade Rosewood board, designed for precision and comfort. With a 7.25 radius, 22 vintage frets and a 62 Jaguar profile it's equally at home playing big chords or intricate lead work.
The real magic comes courtesy of the pickups, Jaguars have always been known for their slightly unique sonic flavour and there are few that have been as iconic as Kurt Cobains. This Jag features the same DiMarzio PAF DP-103 and Super Distortion humbuckers and wiring for a full throttle sound. Complete with an RSD bridge for ultimate tuning stability and intonation, this Jaguar doesnt suffer from any of the usual quirks that Fender offsets face!
Built to perfection, this Jaguar is a real statement piece from the Fender Custom Shop.
