Eddie Van Halen is one of the most influential guitar players of all time, the original King of shred; his tapping technique has spawned a thousand impersonators. Known for his love of tinkering and modding his own guitars, Eddie now fronts EVH, delivering guitars built for precision, tone and the kind of fleet fingered fretboard wizardry for which he made his name.
The EVH "Frankie" is a fitting tribute Eddie’s famed Frankenstein guitar which is widely regarded as the most recognisable guitar ever.
The Frankie features a Basswood body with Eddie’s classic red with white and black striped paint job with a worn in relic look. It's really resonant and perfectly balanced, great for ripping up and down the board.
The graphite reinforced quartersawn Maple neck boasts a hand rubbed oil back, a 12"-16"compound radius, maple fingerboard, 22 jumbo frets and a 25.5" scale length. It really is a treat to play and the riffs just fall out of this beaut!
Routed for an HSS pickup configuration just like Eddie’s original, Frankie features an EVH Wolfgang humbucking bridge pickup with a dummy Strat neck pickup and a dummy five-way blade housed in the middle position.
A sturdy and dependable EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking trem and Floyd Rose locking nut work in tandem for precise tuning even with extreme changes in pitch, while the EVH D-Tuna retunes to drop-D and back with strict accuracy at the flick of a finger.
