Lowden Pierre Bensusan - Adirondack & Guatamala Rosewood

This guitar is exceptional as Lowdens always are, but the specs come from a special partnership between George Lowden and an old friend of his.

George and French-Algerian guitarist and composer Pierre Bensusan have been friends for fourty years, the first guitar that George made for Pierre was back in 1978 that Pierre called 'old lady'. That guitar is still going strong today, but in 2009 George went to work on a new spec guitar, which this guitar is a signature reissue of.

The top of the guitar is a Adirondack Spruce which along with being strikingly pale to look at has a more robust output with a wider dynamic range than regular Sitka. The back and sides are freakin gorgeous Guatemalan Rosewood, warm, rich and powerful tonally with a fantastic dark grain running through the almost red timber. The two choices of tonewood pair together beautifully giving this guitar a superb tonal quality and richness as good as anything we've played.

Other appointments include Abalone and Rosewood Rosette, a 5 piece Maple neck with an Indian Rosewood fretboard, a bookmatched Ebony front and back headstock overlay, Gotoh 510 tuners, and of course a hardcase as standard.

This guitar sounds epic straight out of the box, I can only imagine what it's going to sound like once it's opened up, really a special piece in anyones collection.
