Pearl Jams Mike McCready has earned his place among the giants of rock n roll guitar. Best known for playing a 59 Strat®, his searing leads are steeped in blues and classic rock reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend and Keith Richards, and his peerless work on hits, including "Yellow Ledbetter", "Even Flow", "Nothing As It Seems" and countless others, helped pave the way for Pearl Jams 2017 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It's pretty safe to say he is one of the all time greats.
For 2021 our good friends at the Fender Custom Shop are happy to announce a super limited run to celebrate the legendary artist and instrument. For this limited 60-piece Masterbuilt run, the Custom Shops Vincent Van Trigt carefully disassembled the guitar in order to note and measure every detail, curve and scratch - and there are plenty of scratches, thanks to McCreadys exuberant style!
A 2-Piece sort for lightweight Alder body is finished in the super awesome Faded 3-Colour Sunburst, it's a real beauty. This guitar has gone through the full masterbuilt treatment. Vincent Van Trigt has painstakingly examined every last detail of the legendary original to ensure he creates a faithful replica. This guitar has been beautifully aged and will continue to age as you play due to the super thin Nitro lacquer used. The relic is truly unbelievable; the attention to detail here is meticulous and super authentic
The flat-sawn flame Maple neck has a super smooth finish and a AAA grade Rosewood fingerboard. With a 9.5" Radius, 1960 Oval "C" neck shape, 21 Medium Vintage frets and of course the classic dot inlays. This Mike McCready Strat can handle anything you through at without breaking a sweat, it is a great platform for both rhythm and load playing. Loaded with a 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Trem and Vintage-Style tuners.
In order to deliver those Iconic Pearl Jam tones you need a strong and versatile pickup set. This Strat is loaded with a trio of Custom Josefina hand-wound pickups which have been perfectly matched to the originals. They are beautifully dynamic and articulate as every single coil should be. Thanks to the 5-way switch and vintage wiring including a treble bleed tone capacitor you can really craft your tone to your personal taste.
This guitar is a faithful recreation which pays homage to one of the most iconic instruments in Rock 'n Roll. This is more than just a guitar...This is a piece of music history
