The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the NAMM Ltd Fender Custom Shop '50s Telecaster Custom they hark right back to the early days of Leo Fenders vision.
The Ash body is finished in a stunning 2-Tone Sunburst Journeyman. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The AAA Flame Maple neck is also finished in nitro lacquer for a smooth, authentic, vintage feel. With a 9.5", 21 narrow tall frets and a 25.5"scale length, it's a real joy to play. With a slick maple fingerboard and a 62 U profile, it feels great underhand.
With the Telecaster design being considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '50s Telecaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. With a hand wound Texas Special at the neck and a 51 Nocaster at the brige it boasts a versatile and well balanced selection.
Yet another absolute stunner from the guys at the Fender Custom Shop!
