The Fender Custom Shop do some pretty special things, and with the Custom Shop '51 Custom Nocaster they really push the boundaries of Leo Fenders vision.
A lightweight Ash body is finished in a vibrant Burgundy Mist Metallic Journeyman relic. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other finishes.
The quartersawn Maple neck has a smooth, vintage feel. With a 9.50" radius and medium jumbo frets, the '51 Nocaster features a Nocaster style U profile; it feels comfortable and robust, just like a vintage Fender should.
With the Telecaster design considered by many to be the original workhorse guitar, the Custom Shop '51 Nocaster needs a pickup pairing that can deliver the classic Tele' twang. Loaded with a hand wound Fender 51 Nocaster at the bridge, you certainly get that famous Tele' tone. This beaut has a Seymour Duncan SH-1N "59" at the neck, super versatile it delivers authentic PAF tones, the perfect complement to this guitar!
The original '51 Nocaster's are the stuff of legend, a real collector's piece. The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Nocaster, well that's a player's guitar!
