John Mayer has a reputation for being a bit of a stickler for killer tone, and as a multi Grammy Award winner and heir to the modern blues throne, you wouldn't expect anything less. Long before his association with PRS, John was a Fender signature artist, and this Artist Series Stratocaster was one of several JM Strat's released. Rarely seen on the second hand market, they are something of a collector's piece now, and this example is mint!
A select Alder body is finished in a cracking Olympic White finish. With a 3-ply mint green pick guard and no back plate, this guitar is built to John Mayer's specs, it has a modern feel but a real vintage vibe, its certainly easy to see where the inspiration for the Silver Sky came from!
The tin Maple neck has a smooth satin finish and a super tasty African Rosewood fingerboard. With a 9.5" radius and 6105 frets, this Stratocaster can handle anything you throw at it without even breaking a sweat. It's supremely comfortable and well balanced. The slightly larger than normal C profile takes this into another realm of comfort.
With a trio of Big Dipper single coil pickups it delivers all the sweeping, versatile tones you would expect from a Strat. This pickups have a special scooped midrange and have been specially voiced to match JM's demands.
This guitar is used but in fantastic condition, aside from some very light buckle rash, it is pretty much spotless. It looks, sounds and feels the real deal! Complete with hardcase, this USA built Fender is for collectors and players alike, a real winner!
Unfortunately we cannot offer finance or part exchange against this guitar.
