This is a special piece and not one you'll find at just any Martin dealer. This is a CF Martin Custom Shop Dreadnought with some pretty unusual appointments and wood choices.
The back and sides are made from a wood called 'Sipo', which is fairly close in tone and Mahogany (which makes sense since it's in the Mahogany family), it's visually somwhere between Sapele and Mahogany and sounds rich and warm.
The top on this one is Sitka Spruce with a AAA grade top. The 14-fret join neck is 'select' Mahogany with a modern low oval shape which is comfortable and smooth playing, the fret board is African Blackwood. It's 1 & 11/16" at the nut and 2 & 1/8" at the 12-fret.
Some really unusual visual appointments set this apart from the crowd, a black Ebony nut and headplate, a black Boltaron heelcap, a striking red Martin logo on the headstock, lovely orange/red and silver diamond inlays on the fretboard and rosette too.
