Back in 2007, JHS released their first delay pedal, released in very small numbers, the Pink Panther became a bit of a cult classic. Now they have taken this pedal and rebuilt it from the ground up to create a super delicious and highly versatile delay pedal. At the request of MGM Film Studios, the name Pink Panther is now off limits so the new and improved pedals goes by the name of the Lucky Cat!
With a small footprint, a simple user interface and loads of really cool features, the Lucky Cat is a comprehensive solution to all your delays needs. With controls for Time, Mix, Ratio, Repeats, Darken and a modulation toggle, you have complete control over your sound.
Time is a manual control for the length of the repeats up to 1000ms. Mix controls the volume of the repeats, from fully clean signal to fully wet. Ratio controls the subdivision of the tap tempo with options of quarter note, dotted eighth note, eighth note, and triplets. Repeats controls the amount of repeats you will hear, from one repeat to infinite.
On the left side of the Lucky Cat, you'll find a dip switch for Vintage Tape/Digital Clean tones. In Vintage Tape mode, you'll find a more compressed slightly driven echo like vintage tape delays. In Digital Clean mode the echo is crisp and clean for those pristine and chirpy delay sounds. On the right side of the pedal, you'll also find an external tap jack so you can control the tempo of your delay with an external tap pedal.
This is a great pedalboard friendly delay, its flexible and very user friendly, available if Pink and Black, this is going to be a really popular pedal!
