Dale Wilson is known across the globe as one of Fenders highly revered Masterbuilders, a select group of the worlds most esteemed luthiers. With this Godly status, any guitar with his name attached generates a huge amount of interest, and rightly so.
The Fender Custom Shop Dale Wilson Masterbuilt '61 Stratocaster is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
The featherweight Alder body is finished in a really authentically aged 3-Tone Sunburst. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further, it also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively.
The quarter sawn Maple neck is real comfortable. With a 60's style Oval C profile, 7.25"-9.5" compound radius and stewmac 0155 frets (6105 size)it's super resonant and feels incredible underhand. The AAA grade Rosewood fingerboard is a treat to play, perfectly balanced and with flawless playability right up the neck, it's a real player's piece.
Loaded with a set of "Dale's 50's" Handwound pickups - Dale told me that these are some of his favourite pickups for the big SRV tone. They have the right amount of blend for the chimey 2 and 4 tones but enough grease and dynamics when cranking up the overdrive.
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, it's easy to see the Fender Masterbuilders are so highly regarded. Guitars of this calibre just don't come around every day, we love it and we're pretty sure you will too!
It simply does not get any better than this. Dale has a 4 year back order now and this was ordered in 2016, so chances are if you miss out on this one, it's gonna be a long time before we have another spare!
Unfortunately we are unable to accept part exchange offers on this guitar.
