Jason Smith is known across the globe as one of Fenders highly revered Masterbuilders, a select group of the worlds most esteemed luthiers. With this Godly status, any guitar with his name attached generates a huge amount of interest, and rightly so!
The Fender Custom Shop Jason Smith Masterbuilt '52 Esquire is a great example of the legendary prowess of the Masterbuilders.
This guitar has some serious mojo! With a traditional Ash body, finished in a sweet Celadon Green, this Custom Shop Esquire boasts a Journeyman finish. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The neck is crafted from Quartersawn Maple and features a '52 style U profile, it's real comfortable and with a 9.5" radius and 21 Narrow Tall frets it's smooth and at home playing slick runs and crisp chords right up the neck.
Loaded with a single Broadcaster bridge single coil, you get a broad variation of tones. From clean sparkle to a raunchy growl, this guitar really is a players dream.
Supreme quality from top to bottom and shipped in a Fender Custom Shop hardcase, it's easy to see the Fender Masterbuilders are so highly regarded. Guitars of this calibre just don't come around every day, we love it and we're pretty sure you will to!
