The Crazy Horse Amp continues the high quality construction only found in classic guitar amplifiers of the 1940's, 50's, 60's. Black Volt is inspired by the raw sound of Tweed, Blackface and Marshall Plexi Amps. When pushed to their limits, these amps sounded like they were going to come loose at the joints and explode, but somehow they hung in there and ultimately became the foundation upon which blues and rock & roll was built.
The Crazy Horse has also been inspired by the untamed sound of Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Neil with his old tweed amps and humbuckers influenced the sound of so many different artists, like a force of nature, Like a Hurricane.
The Crazy Horse Amplifier is a single input amp that does not incorporate anything that would degrade tone, harmonic complexity or touch sensitivity, such as : reverb, master volume, an effects loop, printed circuit boards, modelling FX, foot switches or pull pots, its a certified tone machine. Loaded with an Eminence Ragin Cajun speaker and capable of utilising either 6L6 or 6V6 tubes without the need for re-biasing, this amp is a real benchmark in tone and functionality.
Each amplifier is skilfully crafted by hand from the best new and vintage materials.
This amp is used but in great condition. The Pine cabinet is ageing nicely and the vibrant grill cloth looks as good as ever, most importantly, it sounds great!
