Suhr Modern Black with Trans Cherry back

This Custom Suhr Modern is inspired by one of Pete Thorn's own Suhr guitars. This guitar has the exact spec of his own Standard model but this one is of course a 24 fret "modern" model.

Thiis guitar is a little more vintage toned than what we normally hear from the Suhr Modern, mainly as it has 2 Thornbucker pickups, which are of course are Pete Thorn Signature pickup. These pickups were born out of Pete's desire to create an ultimate 50's style "PAF" pickup, with modern touches that'll allow them to be used in 50's singlecuts or the latest up to date high octane guitars, like the Suhr Modern. The pickups just have so much character when played through a high quality valve amp and can be used for literally any style of music. The tone can definitely be described as "hot vintage" though.

Mahogany body with a plain maple top. The back is finished in a sweet Trans cherry hue, as is the neck back but for playability reasons, the neck is of course satin. The fretboard is Indian Rosewood.

Some nice tonal variation from the 5 way switch. It has the usual 5 positions except in the neck position we have the neck humbucker in the split mode and then next position along is full neck humbucker. This is especially cool for creating "super strat" type tones where you have that raunchy crunch on the bridge humbucker and then with a quick flick of the switch you're straight into glassy neck pickup sounds that we love on those HSS guitars.

The tone pot also activate a bridge parallel selection, which is great for creating pseudo Tele tones in the bridge position.
