Here we have a cool instrument, and something of a rarity too. This PRS S2 semi-hollow Vela is made from reclaimed Brauna Preto and Peroba Rosa... Those aren't people, they're recovered exotic woods from old buildings in Brazil that are up to 100 years of age. These incredibly rare wood choices create a tone and visual appeal which is quite unique
The top wood is Peroba Rosa, this often used as wall cladding in Brazil, as a tone wood it's punchy, but full too, and quite distinctive as well. The Fretboard is the Brauna Preto, which are recovered from the supporting posts of the buildings, which is an usual claim for a fretboard too. No brazilian people were left with leaky or wobbly homes during the creation of these guitars, just in case you were concerned.
Natural satin nitro finish on these guitars feel amazingly nice, other spec choices include a Mahogany back, 22 fret mahogany neck with old school bird inlayed, A starla pickup in the bridge is complemented nicely by a type-D Singlecoil in the neck, all controlled from a 3 way toggle selector, a push/pull tone control and a volume control.
Really unusual and cool guitar here, and it's always nice for instruments to have a story attached on top of playing and sounding awesome.
