The Fender Stratocaster is probably the most iconic guitar ever produced and the Fender Custom Shop Tomatillo Journeyman Stratocaster is a fitting addition to this legendary line. Third in the line of Poblano/El Diablo lineage, the Tomatillo pickups are sweet and juicy but with a real kick!
A traditional Alder body is finished in the super cool Tomatillo Green Journeyman finish. The Journeyman is a very lightly aged nitro finish; this gives the look and feel of a vintage guitar that has been lovingly cared for over the years. This finish will wear beautifully with time and develop its own character even further. It also allows the natural resonance of the body to sing and sustain much more effectively compared with other more modern finishes.
The tinted, Quartersawn AA Flame Maple neck features a 9.5" radius for a superb modern playing action without any choking. The 10/56 V profile and 21 jumbo frets offer a really comfortable playing experience, while the bone nut, American vintage tremolo and vintage style tuners add a real vintage feel.
With a trio of handwound Fender Tomatillo pickups it delivers all the sweeping, versatile tones you would expect from a Strat. With a 5-way switch it features Fender Fat 50s wiring with a half blender facility for even greater tonal variations.
