Here's something a little bit different from Fender. While it appears to be a "regular" Strat, it actually has a few nice tweaks to sperate it out from the usual Relics, NOS models etc.
Introduced at NAMM 2017, this limited edition guitars is a "American Custom" Strat, with a roasted maple neck. According to the spec sheet, it's "medium roast Birdseye 3A grade maple"
The body is made form Ash and the guitar barely needs to be played through and amp, it's just so resonant and ringy! When you do play it through an amp though, you're treated to some of the sweetest, chimiest 50's Strat tones that you could ever imagine. The units installed in this guitars are 69 hand wound pickups in the neck and middle positions, with a hand-wound Texas special in the bridge position.
Playability is a pinch on this one, with it's 9.5" to 12" compound radius and 6105 frets. The 10'56 "V" shape neck, just fits in your hand so easily and it really is a joy to play.
If you like your Strats clean and pristine, with bold sweet tones, then this is definitely a great choice.
